About Us

The Portland Fighting Fillies are a professional women’s football team based in Portland, Oregon. Before you ask the questions (everyone does), here are some answers for you:

1. YES, we play American football. Although some of the women on our team also play the international sport otherwise known as “Futbol,” the Portland Fighting Fillies follow a game that has very similar rules to those of the NFL.
2. YES, we play REAL “pads-and-helmets, knock-the-crap-outta-each-other” football.
3. We play in a national league against teams all over the country! The Fighting Fillies play in the American Conference of the Women’s Football Alliance. (Word on the street is that we will also be playing against a team from Finland in the Spring!)

The Portland Fighting Fillies are a team of 40 women from all walks of life dedicated to promoting the sport of women’s football across the nation, and advocate healthy living for women of all ages and backgrounds. The Fillies organize numerous camps year-round to train girls and women in the sport of football to create healthy players for life.

The Portland Fighting Fillies are an LLC owned and managed by the members of the team.
