Board of Directors
The Portland Fighting Fillies are run by a board of players, coaches and fans. Please check back to this page in the near future when we will update this page with all of the pertinent information.
President: Karla Fisher
Karla is a rookie player this year but hardly a rookie in life. At 46 years of age and the team’s oldest athlete, she
demonstrates that age is just a number and that it is never too late to chase your dreams. Over her lifetime, she served in the US Army and the USMC in Military Intelligence. She also raised two young ladies (now 25 and 27 years old) as a single parent. Since her release from the USMC in 1991, she has worked in the High Tech field where she excels at helping to bring new technologies to the world. She currently is a Senior Program Manager at Intel Corp responsible for delivering programs developed around the globe to Intel’s platforms. When not at work or on the football field, Karla can be found practicing or performing the classical guitar, lifting heavy stuff in the gym or working her 40-acre farm just outside of Portland.
General Manager: Lyn Lumley
Lyn Lumley is the head coach and general manager of the Portland Fighting Fillies. He comes to the team with decades of coaching championship high school football teams under his belt. Please come back for more information.
Secretary: Tracy Sand
Tracy Sand is beginning her 9th season as a women’s full-contact football player. She has had experience on and off the offensive line, and is known to help the rookies when they are utterly clueless. She spends her time chasing things around (linemen, Coach Lumley, and chickens, to name a few). Please come back for more information.
Treasurer: Wendi Kali
This is Wendi’s second year in the world of women’s football and her seventeenth in the world of accounting. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance from Portland State University and when she’s not playing Offensive Tackle or Defensive End she’s working as a Senior Accountant for a Northwest chain of pubs and breweries.
Community Programs Director: Shannon Wilson
Shannon Wilson is beginning her fourth season as a women’s full-contact football player. She is a fullback and defensive end, although she generally is an offensive person (ok, not really… I’m just waiting on the official bios). Either way, she’s an attorney from Las Vegas and she don’t take no crap from nobody. Please come back for more information.
Sponsorships: Laura Schmidt
Laura is a rookie this year, and will soon learn that football hurts. Laura is a Jill-of-All-Trades, and no one quite understands why she volunteered to do this job, but she wears white shoes to practice, which means she marches to the beat of her own drummer. Just kidding. Her official bio will come soon.
Marketing: Aimee Genter
Aimee Genter is beginning her third season as a women’s full-contact football player. She plays on the offensive line. Hah hah. No more offensive jokes here, my friends… this is actually Aimee typing this. See, I also run the web site. And we’re just getting started this season, so come back soon for more information than you can stomach.
Merchandising: Krystal Meisner
Krystal Meisner is a senior at Oregon State University majoring in Merchandising Management and minoring in Women’s Studies. Her hobbies include hip hop dancing, shopping, walking her dog Bella, and making people laugh. This will be her third year playing football and she can’t expalain how much passion she has for this sport. She loves learning more and more about this sport and seeing herself grow as an individual and teammate.
Recruiting: Jeanette “Jet” Riding & Alicia Tucker
Jet and Tucker run the recruiting side of things. They visit schools, help with setting up football camps for girls, and are essential players in helping shed more light on this game that we all love. Jet is a third-year football veteran & our quarterback, as well as being a recruiter for the US Army and an Iraq war veteran. Tucker is also a third-year veteran, and a superstar on the field. They are always on the lookout for new talent.
Logistics: Lisa Elliott
Lisa Elliott is my idol, and she should be yours, too. She is the best offensive guard… ever. And she has taught me a lot about the game. Speaking of which, by trade, Lisa is a teacher. But she will be handling the logistics of the team and maintaining our calendar, so whenever you use our calendar, think of her.
